Edit, fill and sign
Open the document preview and choose the editor offered for its file type. You need edit access and an available lock. Save and reopen the result to confirm the stored version.

Choose an editor
| Action | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Fill and sign | Add supported text, marks or signatures to a PDF |
| Edit | Edit supported text files such as text, Markdown, JSON, YAML and XML |
| Edit image | Adjust supported raster images with the image editor |
| Edit document | Use the configured Office editor for supported Office files |
JSON, YAML and XML must remain valid before they can be saved. Text saves use UTF-8; an XML declaration naming a different encoding must be corrected before saving. Do not reformat a file merely to make a small content change unless that is intended.
Save a controlled change
- Confirm you opened the intended document and current version.
- For a longer editing task, check out the document first.
- Open the editor and make the change.
- Save or complete the editor's submission/check-in flow.
- Inspect the preview and Version history to confirm the result.
Closing an editor without saving discards its unsaved edits. A lock protects concurrent editing; it is not evidence that content has been saved.
Signing and approval
A placed signature mark, a fill-in task and an e-signature workflow step have different purposes. Follow the action requested by the workflow. For an e-sign step, complete its signing flow and check the recorded result in the timeline. Do not substitute a manually drawn mark for a required workflow signature.
Editing file text does not automatically refresh earlier AI extraction. Run the relevant read again when the workflow requires the new bytes to be analysed.
